:: Yesterday
- My Passion for Photography was ignited at the age of 16, when I purchased my first 35mm camera (manual adjustments only) and began making black and white contact prints in a makeshift darkroom in the corner of my parent’s garage.
- While my career path led me to the field of Secondary Education as a Teacher, Counselor and Coach, I nurtured my passion for Photography by reading extensively, experimenting with various cameras and darkroom techniques, and photographing family and friends. As a result, my portfolio includes many images of our daughter, Monica, her husband, Mike, and their children, Ahkia and Monique. Along the way I completed coursework culminating in a Certificate of Graduation in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography.
:: Today
- Over the years, my interest in photography has only increased. Embracing recent advancements in technology, I am now making pictures on digital cameras, editing and enhancing my work in my “Digital Darkroom” (a custom-built computer outfitted with specialized photography software and hardware).
- I am now able to focus on photography on a full-time basis. In collaboration with my wife, Wilma, McDougle Photography offers services in the field of fine portraiture. Although this is the 10th year of McDougle Photography as a business, it will be our first year as a full-time enterprise. This allows me to combine my love for working with people and my passion for photography--a positive combination for making excellent portraits.
